Double Glazed Sashes

Double Glazed Sashes

DOUBLE GLAZED SASHES

Ventrolla’s preferred timber window double glazing solution of replacing the sashes and retaining the original box frame and sill, reduces the disruption to the property and hence cost of making good any redecoration. More importantly, the replacement sashes are designed specifically for double glazing units, particularly to carry the extra weight, and can be appropriately sealed to ensure longevity.

We utilise slim glazing units which enables us to manufacture sashes using traditional carpentry methods, including ‘through’ / ‘solid’ glazing bars, helping to retain the window’s authentic feel and look.

Another main feature of the slim glazing unit is the reduced sightline of the spacer bar between the two panes of glass, which enables Ventrolla to manufacture narrower glazing bars and thereby closely replicating the existing sashes.

THE BENEFITS:

  • Reduced energy costs
  • Easy Future Maintenance
  • Minimum disruption and redecoration to the property
  • Perimeter Sealing System (equivalent to 114 kmph winds)

TIMBER SPECIFICATION:

The replacement sashes are manufactured from either hardwood, or treated softwood, which has a 50 year manufacturer’s warranty against rot and termite infestation, hardwood, or treated softwood.

The replacement sashes are manufactured using a range of selected traditional ‘through’ glazing bars and are manufactured and hand finished by our skilled craftsmen.

VENTROLLA SASH REMOVAL SYSTEM (SRS) SPECIFICATION:

To assist with future maintenance and painting, where possible, we install our patented Sash Removal System (SRS) that enables both the top and bottom sashes to be removed for redecoration and future maintenance.

VENTROLLA PERIMETER SEALING SYSTEM.

The system is fitted by routing grooves into the mid-rail and bottom rail in the sashes, or within the inner face of casement windows, to which a pile carrier is fitted and appropriate height weatherfin pile installed.

New parting beads and staff beads are fitted that also incorporate the weatherfin pile, creating a fully sealed, yet operational window.

THE FINISH:

The sashes are supplied sprayed with a high build base coat and an anti-stain primer, ready for final finishing coat by others.
